Baby Love

Dear Little George,

I'm sorry it has been so long since I've written. I've been incredibly nauseous and extremely tired for the past several weeks. I can't eat, I can't sleep from 3 to 4:30 am, and I can't run around chasing after your brother. Your Daddy has been very understanding but he too is preoccupied with the remodel of our new house, the move, the vacation, and planning Simon's third birthday party - all happening in the next few weeks.

In any case, it has been a big few weeks for you. We told your Grandparents Kagle and Grandparents Rubenson that you existed as well as your Aunt Tonya and her children. Daddy wants to wait to tell the rest of his family in person which is a month away - we'll see if you can stay a secret for that long. I'm already out of my regular clothes - partially to keep the nausea at bay.

Yesterday I had my first pregnancy appointment. Daddy and I watched you all curled up with your little beating heart. We were so happy to see your heart! You look kind of like a shrimp child at this point but, in a couple of weeks, you'll look more like a human baby and we'll get to see you again.

Your brother has been incredible about your existence. He crawled over to me on the floor a few weeks back, gave my belly a kiss and said "I love you, baby." He likes to rub your home and give you wet boos and "snoogies." He still shouts "Welcome to our house!" at you while his face is squished against my womb. The other night Daddy asked him if he thought you were a boy or a girl. He laughed, "It snot a boy or gurl, it's a buther or a sister!"

Love,

Mama
