Let the Guessing Begin
Dear Little George,
We're calling you Little George for the same reason we called your brother George. When Daddy was young he named all his stuffed animals "George" - there was a "Big George" and a "Little George" and even a "Medium George."
Just as with Simon, we won't be telling anyone your name until you are born. If we did, we're absolutely certain there would be a crowd of people who would stand up and ever so gently say "THAT IS A TERRIBLE NAME, HOW CAN YOU DO THAT TO A CHILD?!" After all, with your brother there was "Simon says" and "Simple Simon" and "that mean guy from American Idol" to worry about. Simon's name hasn't been a problem for him and we don't think yours will be for you either. It is unusual, true. It is even likely you will never -in your life- run into another person with your same name. But we think it is a great name with a great history. Mama has never run into another "Hava" and her life has not been irreparably harmed.
No one really guessed Simon. We're pretty sure no one will guess what the "A" in A.B. stands for (the "B" is easier). But everyone is welcome to try. As people come up with guesses, they should add them to the comments of this post. They'll be here to compare when Little George is born and when he is old enough to enjoy the attempts.
Love,
Mama

Dear A.B.
Just for the record, I have one of the most common names out there and yet I'm not traumatized (to my knowledge) whenever I meet with another Jen or Jennifer. So, even if your parents opt for a more "common" name, you'll be all right, I promise. Can't wait to meet you.
PS. We're not telling anyone the name(s) of our child until it's born either, so your mom and dad really aren't that weird.

On the Harry Potter line, Matthew thought it could be Al Bus (A.B.). That was before he remembered he knows A.B.'s name.

Abel Baker Charles Kagle? No, wait, there's no C in the initials, though that'd be cool.
Then again, Abel Bagel Kagle is even cooler, and would sound fabulous 3 times fast. Which is good because whenever you want kids to do something, they ignore you until you've asked three times and then said, "I asked you three times already, do it NOW!"

Hope you are all sleeping soundly tonight. One more try for the name...how about Abraham Bryan Kagle? I rather like that.

OK, since we're almost at the third trimester I feel comfortable giving a few hints:
1. Jewish tradition prevents us from naming Little George after anyone who is alive (it is, however, an honor to name a baby after someone deceased). This pretty much excludes all male family names and anything very similar to male names already in use. Matthew's middle name is Abraham. Little George has other family with names including Andrew, Bradley, Alan, and Art.
2. Neither of us are fans of misspellings (although I misspell things unintentionally all the time I'm fairly certain I will never misspell my child's name).
3. There may, at first, be a pronunciation issue with Little George's name (although at least half of the family will get it correct on the first go due to the slight advantage of hearing it in use more frequently). The person who guessed his name correctly pronounced it incorrectly!
4. It is such a great name! Both of our lives, before we met and while together, have had intersections with it and what it represents.
5. It's a real first name, not a word and not a last name used as a first name.
Happy Guessing,
Hava

This would surely be a nice name combination:
Abram Benjamin kagle (Yes, I know that Benjamin was previously rejected from the list but would you consider slipping it back on?)

I'm voting on Asher - who happens to be one of Bradley's school and scouting buddies - kinda uncommon, and unless you've done a few baruch ata Adonai...asher kiddushana's...etc etc you might mispronounce it. I also kinda like Akiva if you want the same number of letters. Anyhow, happy last trimester of pregnancy and getting closer to meeting your darling new George. Lov L

I would start to lean toward Aaron (assuming that the clue was that it is 5 letters long) but Aaron isn't hard to pronounce and isn't *that* uncommon. Is it?
