Simon's Week in Review

Simon has had a crazy week. Monday and Tuesday he drove up to San Francisco with Matthew to spend the day with Grandmother and Feefadder Kagle. They rode busses! They rode trolleys! They saw boats and ate at a crab shack! Helicopters and airplanes and clock towers, oh my! Simon had such a good time and Monday night he came home in time to tell us about his adventures and then pass out.

Tuesday night Grammy Rubenson and Cousin Sarah came by to visit with Simon for the rest of the week. Simon wasn't himself and, by mid-morning Wednesday, it was clear that he wasn't feeling well. By Wednesday afternoon he had a fever and congestion. He has been playing on and off, inside and out, and enjoys having Grammy and Sarah around but he clearly misses his Daddy. He wants to snuggle up to Sarah and she isn't interested. He has chased her around to give her a boo on the belly and has asked her to dance with him hundreds of times. Nope! And why won't she play in the tub or pretend with him? Simon, we're afraid, is learning a lesson about seven-year-old girls. He also isn't sleeping particularly well because he just knows Sarah and Grammy are out in the living room playing with his toys all night long.

We all went to Cafe Yulong last night where Sarah confirmed that fish and leek dumplings are really good. She also thinks that "green noodles are the best thing ever!" And that was after telling us that she doesn't like spinach.

Simon's fortune this week:

You have a keen sense of humor and love a good time.

Very appropriate.
